Anybody know what tool is used to remove the screw down ring on 60s Memovox's? The JAXA-style doesn't seem to fit the 5 super thin slots on the back and I don't want to damage the case... |

I use the Jaxa style opener with modified tips. The watch MUST be securing in a case holder and vise. You can't open these by hand without srcatching them and even with the case holder it can be a challenge if it's been on for years and years. |

Thanks Zaf. I'll try to Dremel the rectangle tip down and open it very carefully. The watch was tuned up and cleaned before I got it, but it consistently gains 1 second/hour. I'm wary of sending it out to anybody without a good picture of the movement for my records. |

Don't bother regulating it more. REALLY. 1 sec per hour is very reasonable for the age of the watch and it doesn't have micrometric regulation anyway, so any movement of the index stick will likely make the timing worse. |

Some macro shots I took. The case back is branded differently than the movement, but since it has the right model # I don't if that is abnormal. Movement
Case
Balance - a time lapse of the balance in action. Pretty cool.

just thought I'd make a note here about something I found before closing this guy up. If you look close at the movement picture you can see that the automatic winder "lock" tooth is popped out (the metal arrow on the end of the spring which looks like a short hair). The watch wasn't staying wound for more than 2 days... Luckily it was easy to correct. |

That tooth should press against a small gear, under the pressure of a small spring. As far as the back a "LeCoultre" back is correct for a "Jaeger-LeCoultre movement and dial. |
