Hi,
I just purchased this watch It says Memovox on the back of the case with a number and an A. Does this look authenticate. What do I need to do verify that it is real?

Thanks

Ok, so far the local watch repair shop and a jeweler has told me this is authentic. The jeweler told me that the green dots are radium. Any idea on a year and value on something like this? I am going to have it cleaned and serviced. Do I need to take to someone who specializes in JLC?

Thanks for the help.

I've been looking at a lot of Memovox's lately (mostly on this forum) and I have never seen one with that typeface used for the JLC logo, nor have I ever seen the 'Le' not attached to the 'Coultre'.

It looks hand written. Maybe with a pen.

I also haven't seen 'radium' like that, especially with the glue stains around it. But interestingly the center alarm disc alone really doesn't look that fake to me.

Then again...
Disclaimer: I am a JLC novice at best.

I found that the radium poisoning was from 1917 to 1926. The jeweler thought that this watch would have been from around 1965. So that doesn't quite fit right. I noticed the typeface and lack of a dash too. I am having trouble finding someone to open the back for me. I hope to have a serial number and more pictures soon.

The watch is real. The dial has been poorly refinished. If it has an "A" on the back, it's 18k gold.

Should I have the dial refinished or replaced? What is the ball park price of a witch like this when it is cleaned, serviced and dial fixed?

An original dial is a huge value component on a watch like this. So assuming you can get it redone properly, maybe it'll be worth $2000-2500.
