Hi Zaf and friends! I've been eyeing this JLC Memovox recently, but I have some concerns about it.

1. The style is a pretty significant departure from other JLC Memovoxs of the period: warm colors and a matte finish.

2. Additionally, I haven't been able to find any identical pieces. The closest one I could find was on this forum in 2004:

3. The dial seems pretty dirty. The color might be due to dust. I'm not sure if it could be cleaned without replacement.

Seller provided info:
Jaeger LeCoultre Memovox
Stainless Steel case no. 1232311
Automatic movement
Estimated 1960s
Price: USD 4300

So, what's your take? Any modifications or other red flags?

Thanks!

After searching about 100 posts, I think that may have found a reference to this exact model! (in an odd random thread)

Calibre 825
E855
automatic, 37mm, comes in stainless

The description is hard to read. Something like "Applied ebony-(something) hour markers" ?

Seriously, what are the odds of finding that catalog scan?

Sounds very expensive to me, by at least $1000.

Zaf, You are right on the money: I got it down to $2900 now.

Great price estimate! Thanks.

I did end up getting this watch at the lower price. The picture actually didn't do it justice.. The case is like a mirror and the dust/specs in the picture are barely perceptible under normal lighting.

The bumper movement was weird at first, but it's cool when you get used to it!
