just stumbled over a jlc futurematic on ebay - nice as its a jlc and having a steel case but the hands look unusual - maybe a frankenwatch:

Item number on ebay is: 8942094354

yes, the hands are wrong, but I don't think it's enough to call it a frankenwatch.

Just a futurematic with wrong hands !

futurematic have relatively standard dauphine hands (though rather long), and might no be so difficult to source

I wouldnt call the hands *wrong*, unusual describes it better. How many European Futurematics with this particular dial layout have we seen?
To me the whole watch looks legit. :-)

I would have to agree with Ilja. The hands apparently look right for that era after finding this 1951 Memovox currently up for auction.

this watch is really a beauty with the ss case - if it had the typical futurematic hands i would place a bid.

Buzz. If the frenchman's information is true, regarding how early this futurematic is, then I would say it's pretty rare and SS. The movement does look rather clean. I do notice that the locking part looks new and of different metal stamping. It probably was replaced due to the fact that some folks damage this when opening the case wrongly. The back setting has to be set in a certain way from what I read.

I'm not convinced the hands are original to the watch. I'd expect dauphine hands with the insides cut out to take luminous material. At a minimum, I'd expect sliver colored hands, not blued steel ones, but who knows for sure.
