I assume it is manual wind? A picture would be helpful.

Yes. Here is a photo of my GRAND father's watch which we believe was purchased the same day in Lucerne. We have both of these watches.

Any additional information about these and your help with determining a current insurance value for them would be greatly appreciated.

If it is a complete set, box, papers, etc, for insurance purposes, $3000 should cover it.

Thank you for generously sharing your knowledge of these treasures. No box has been located yet, but we have the original papers, one original unused leather band, etc. Is your estimate for each watch or for both watches together?

If you had one perfect near unused watch with all of it's boxes and papers, then $3000 for the one watch. If it has any significant wear then the price can go as low as $800-900 for one watch. I don't know what condition you're taking about exactly since I can not see the watches. So it really depoends on condition, sorry to give such a range, but that's the way it is in the market place.

Thanks again for your assistance, Zaf!

As a final note for this thread, we have found we DO have the original box from my father's watch along with the original papers and the original (unused) leather band. These two watches have been in our family since originally purchased together in Lucerne by my grandfather for himself and his son!
