Hi there,

Brandnew at this forum, but I am already very impressed by all the knowledge there is on vintage Memovoxes
Really would very appreciate it when you could help me out on this one:

I am about to buy a Memovox cal 825, model 855
It looks great, original dail, nice housing, inner work looks fine, etc. A few things I am a tiny bit concerned about, though, hope you can help me out
1. finishing of the outer backside is done in circular instead of straight lines. Is that correct?
2. inside of the back case looks fine, but is it the custom to stamp 855 in the backside?
3. the 0,750-mark: is it the right one? Normally I see the mark wherein the 18K is combined with the 0,750 numbers
4. the number on the outer case has 7 digits, whereas I often see only 6 digits
5. is there anyone who has a official list of serial numbers to compare the number of the work with?
Sigh. It is a lovely journey, bit exhausting LOL

Thanks!!

It looks to me like the inner alarm post was repaired, and that subsequently, the line finish on the case back was lost and replaced by a circular finish. Some of the finish on the inside seems lost too. The rest looks fine to me. This model was made for several years so there are variations.

Thanks Zaf, I'll take it that that is no reason not to go through with this purchase? I like the 855 that much...
Cheers,

It all depends on the price I guess.

With the current ex rate app US 5000. That is a lot of money, although prices in the EU tend to be somewhat higher than in the States?

Sounds a bit on the higher end of the scale to me.
