I'd be interested for your views.

The bezel, hands and movement signing are different from others I've seen

e.g. http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=msg&goto=1269946&rid=0#msg_1269946

were there several variants of the watch or are these non-original parts?

The bezel on the watch is NOT CORRECT. The dial labeled as a "LeCoultre" is mismatched with the movement labeled as "Jaeger-LeCoultre". So we have some kind of marriage with an incorect bezel. I hope you didn't buy it as I saw this Franken on eBay and was sad to see it sell at such a high price.

Hi Nick,

the hands on Clavis watch are a replacement, which I know for sure since I sold him the watch. :-)

As Zaf already stated for your(?) watch, the bezel insert is a replacement. The hands are probably correct, but it is impossible to tell which hands the watch originally was delievered with, since we have no catalog or advertising material about it. Well, GregB has an advertising showing the Deep Sea Alarm, so perhaps he is willing to post it here. Would you Greg?

I wouldnt bother about the JLC signed movement, as long it is a caliber 815. A LeCoultre signed bridge can be sourced. Check if the balance bridge is signed with VXN or not.

Ilja are you getting soft in your old age? :-)
The bezel is impossible to source and given what has paid for this watch, I do think it is a big deal.

Must be the fresh air outside on weekends. :-)
I wonder what one *would* pay for a correct looking bezel... Ha ha.

That is a truly scary thought. How long before I have to come visit you in the hospital?

By the way, still no bike pedals...did you check with your vendor?

Hi

thanks for your comments

I think the bezel itself is correct, but the bezel insert is obviously wrong

the hands are correct and the shallow domed winders are correct, but different from the high-domed ones on some recent pictures

the movement looks to be a clean and functioning 815, but obviously not the original movement - I can't quite read the serial no and have to get a magnifier and the macro lens out

the dial is in fabulous condition and the case is in very good shape - will try to do some better pictures

the one below this was on ebay in Feb

another ebay below

and European model from post by Clavi below

maybe more money than sense with this one - but I think I'll still enjoy it

Nick
