I have the box and booklet from my father's JLC which he no longer has. In the back of the booklet there is a dealer stamp: "Asprey & Co. LTD, New Bond St. etc", the date of purchase: "July 1971", and the model No: E 20004. The mov't no. and case no. were left blank. I recall the watch as a manual wind watch with a simple silver/white dial. More information and any old JLC catalog pictures would be appreciated. Please note that the above data is handwritten and the "E" maybe an "F". Thanks in advance. Elias |

Hi Elias! Nice to see you came over here for a visit. I remember you once asked me about dedails regarding that watch... Fortunetly, we came across some vintage JLC documents. - 1967 JLC catalog states: Calibre 885, 15J, sweep second, handwind, waterproof, Monocoque case, diameter 34mm. Was available in SS, 18k YG and goldplated with SS caseback. Retail in 1967 was 250 German Marks for the SS version. YG - 550 GMs ; Plated - 265 GMs. We try to scan the page and send it to you by email. Ilja |

Hi Ilja: Thanks for the info about the model E 2004. I look forward to scans. My dad's old watch was in 18K (I recall examining the hallmarks under a loop) and had an engraved presentation on the back. BTW, on an unrelated matter, my Day-Date JLC Club keeps VERY accurate time, and it's larger size makes it look contemporary. Mine has a case somewhat similar in shape and size to the current Master series with a silver white dial. I wear it with the bracelet that you found for me !! Best regards, Elias |
