Yes, it is authentic. If it is in clean condition, value is $800-1200. More if pristine, less if beat up.

Thanks Zaf! Appreciate your help. If you or anyone does not mind, I was curious what the VXN stood for, the age and how come I have those different looking numbers on the dial? Oh, and I registered, so I have a different name now....

"VXN" was the import code used by LeCoultre during that time on watches made specifically for the USA market.

Contrary to what many of the sellers on eBay (and elsewhere) would have you believe, it has nothing whatsoever to do with Vacheron & Constantin. It's just that the same company imported both brands of watches into the USA in the 1950's.

The numerals on the dial are just a late 1950's style. It probably lasted only a couple of years. No different than the tail fins on American cars of the era.

Hope this helps,

You guys or gals are Gods. I love this site. I love collecting watches. Unfortunately, I am not in the same league as most here. I primarily collect mens vintage wind-up, Hamilton tank types and Bucherer pendant watches. I only have this watch and my grandmothers backwind Le Coultre.

Thanks again.....

I'll help where I can, Zaf.

It's only fair, as you have helped me.

Take care
