I have a Lecoultre Mystery Diamond watch with 37 diamonds in 14K White Gold circa approximately 1960. Any idea what the value of this watch is (range)? |

The market seems to have an ever increasing demand for the LeCoultre 37-diamond "Galaxy" model Mystery Dial. The base price for examples in decent condition start at about $1,700 and go north from there. Mint examples can bring $3K and up. Earlier models with the Vacheron script signature on the back of the case seem to bring the most. There are numerous threads on this discussion board about this watch model if you browse a bit. Thanks GregB. Mine does have the Vacheron script on the back. It needs some repair (the floating disc has become dislodged). Can any qualified jeweler make that repair? We have 2 of these watches in our family and am thinking of selling one. Any suggestions on where to go? |

I just discovered this website. I have a LeCoultre watch which belonged to my late father which I just took to a jewelry store to have cleaned and so forth, and had tried to contact LeCoultre to see if I could get a replacement crystal, as mine is scratched on one side. It is at least 35 years old, and is also 14K white gold; it has diamonds for the numerals and and hands, and is square-faced. I will send a picture as soon as I get the watch back, but they say it will be there probably a month. The numbers on the back are 635-691 and 79066. I also have a LeCoultre miniature 8-day alarm clock, which is about that old also. |

Lisa, It sounds like you have a square Mystery Dial watch. They're not all that common. Crystal replacement is easily available from any local watchmaker (not jeweler). You don't need to go to JLC to get the crystal replaced. Just look in the yellow pages or Google under "watch repair" and your city name to find someone near you. Cost will be $50-75. Greg |
