hello there, I read your interesting forum, and i have a question for zaf if he reads this or another person who can help me. I saw some alarming reports onthis guy named surgutyanin selling watches on ebay. a friend asked me to look for a le coultre chrono and this surgutyanin is slling one e bay. the nr is 8920300599, ending on the 6th of april, http://cgi.ebay.nl/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=8920300599&ssPageName=STR K:MEWA:IT. what do you folks think, should I retract my bid, or is it ok, thanks for your trouble kind regards from a jaeger le c. fan from amsterdam |

As far as I am concerned, any movement signed like that on the bridge or the case did not start its life as a LeCoultre product. With all the questionable stuff that this guy sells, why chance it? The stuff isn't even selling all that inexpensively either. |

I think the watch has been completely made up, yes. This is just an opinion, however. It is not possible to offcially verify any "LeCoultre" branded watches in particular chronographs. |

IOW, it's a "FrankenWatch". Look at the second hand. It looks like he took some "white-out" and painted it. The watches up for auction for this seller are highly suspect. Don't bid if you think you are going to win an investment or collection piece. |

Additionally, as soon as the auction ends or the next day, this guy takes all the photos off so there is no trail to follow, especially so called vintage watches that he seems to pull out of air. |
