.... to determine the exact model of this watch. It was one of my fathers and one of the few things i have which belonged to him. I would like to know more about it and if possible a year of manufacture and approximate value (it is not for sale BTW). Underneath the JLC script it says "Fabrique en Suisse" and the face has a rather deep scratch which i would be interested in having polished out. The strap also needs replacing which i will have done. Thank you all very much for your time. Graham.![](https://www.classicwatch.com/discus/messages/622/6995.jpg) |

A further shot of the back and it appears to be retained by four screws, two at either side. The buckle is very unusual and it does not fasten in the conventional manner but by compression. The buckle is gold also. graham.![watch_rear](https://www.classicwatch.com/discus/messages/622/6998.jpg) |

Also, the numbers on the back read 9570. There is no paperwork though the box is original. I did read that Zaf mentioned in a completely unrelated post that changing the crystal/glass would not detract from the value, is this the case in this instance as i think i would prefer to have the scratch polished out. Here is the buckle which is rather unusual and one i have never seen before. (but then, i am not an expert, at anything:-)). graham.![buckle](https://www.classicwatch.com/discus/messages/622/7002.jpg) |

This is a French market watch as it has "eagle head" hallmarks, in 18k gold. The case was made in France. Neither I nor the factory will have any specific information on the watch itself. You could give you an approximate manufacture date if you provide the movement serial number. |
