Hi--I recently acquired a man's Jaeger LeCoultre as pictured, which had been refurbished at the factory in Paris. Currently, the hour numbers illuminate in the dark, but neither set of hands do so. I'm wondering if that is the way it was originally constructed or if it seems that the hands have been replaced or painted over. Thank you. I can't tell if the hands have been painted over from the photos. If the hands have the original luminous material, it would not be unusual for them to stop glowing. |

Would you then consider it unusual for the numbers to glow but not the hands? Thanks for your help. |

No I would not. The dials are frequently stored without luminous and if it went to the factory, a modern luminous was applied to the dial. The hand luminous is applied when the hands are made. So there could be a 70 yr difference between the two. |
