Greetings, Zaf:

I'm curious to know the manufacture date of my LeCoultre 480/CW movement. The serial number is 848813.

Also, I saw in a thread from last year that you were putting together a book. Is it available?

Thanks,
Bruce

Your watch movement dates to 1952.

I'm still working on the book, down to the last chapter for the first draft to be complete. The factory is now taking months to answer my questions, so they are not making it all that easy for me.

Many thanks.

As for many things in life, if it were easy, it wouldn't be so worthwhile. Please keep us all posted on the progress. If I had to venture a guess, your first edition will sell out pretty fast.

I hope one of the chapters is going to be on "How to spot the JLC Frankenwatches" :-)

I can't wait to read the book.

There are "buying tips" that show what to look for in a genuine watch rather than showing fakes (which I don't think is a good idea).

Good. You may also want to add a blurb or two like "if you see a triple chronograph vintage JLC, or some other "Franken" that never was officially a product by the OEM", that should cool some of those bits. :-)
