Hi Zaf- I have been searching past forums and have found different answers so thought it would be best just to post and ask directly. I have a LeCoultre Futurematic in non working condition. I tried to get some pics but could not get them clear enough to be of value, so I will provide as much info as possible. The face of the watch is black with gold dials, numerals and markers. The top says LeCoultre Futurematic, it has Arabic numerals and markers. The left side has the power reserve indicator and the right side has the constant seconds dial with 15,30,45 and 60. Inside the back cover it says "cased and timed in USA by LeCoultre" 10k gold filled. On the back of the timepiece it says "seventeen 17 jewels" LeCoultre Co unadjusted swiss 497 with a serial number I believe is 1166584 or 1165584. My question is- Is this watch worth fixing? I saw posts where repairs could run $200 to thousands of dollars. I understand not knowing what is wrong with the watch does not allow you to give me a repair cost, but it looks like parts are rare and repairs generally very expensive, is that accurate? Would I be better off selling as a parts watch? And if so, where and what is the best place to list? Thanks so much, this site is a mountain of knowledge. Jon |

I typically charge $300-400 to get them going, so it really depends on the watch. If it has nice original cosmetics, it is worth fixing, if it is beat up, then it's more of a part watch candidate. |
