I have acquired a Jaegar-LeCoultre AUTOMATIC watch with a WORLD TIME dial. I am trying to date the watch.

At the moment I only have a case number on the back, 1053088.

I am about to take it to a jeweler to open and inspect.

What information from inside the case should he get for me that will help verify its production date and value?

I can only date exactly via the movement serial #, but these are generally mid 1960s. Value depends if the world time dial is real or not. There are thousands of inner dial fakes. I can't tell from the photo. The color looks different enough from the rest of the watch to make me wonder.

A watchmaker is pulling that number off for me and I will forward it onto this post. Is there any key to determining if the world time dial is fake or original?

By the way I've learned so much from reading posts on this Forum. Thank you for moderating it...

If it's a real disk, no real way to tell unless it comes with original papers.
