I have a vintage (late 1950's)Jaeger LeCoultre thin manual wind watch. The watch was shipped to me from Argentina S.A. with a sapphire jeweled crown. What is the correct crown for this watch? Did Jaeger LeCoutre produce a mens watch with a jeweled crown? The case has 993152 stampped on the back, and the face has Jaeger LeCoultre scripted @ 3:00. The face has markers only, no date or second hand...Help!

Most likely that is not the right crown, a photo will allows us to make that call.

I'd expect a normal small sized "JL" crown on that watch.
This is most likely a 1960s watch.

I have the original box with some repair paperwork dated 1961. I was guessing the watch was a late 50's early 60's model.

Thanks for your input.

Does anyone have any idea what model this watch is? I am sending it off to have the crown replaced because I think it is wrong (thanks Zaf). Any info or resource that I could review before I ship it would be great.

That sounds like a lot of expense just for a crown.
To get the case reference numbers, it usually is a sect of numbers (typically 4 digits) located below the case serial numbers, located in the inside of the case back.

I have the numbers 1901 located below all of the script. Above that:
Brevet + 76929

You'll need to find it in an old catalog (or another example). I have neither.
