Hi, I was offered a Jaeger-LeCoutre Memovox in apparently good conditions for 1650 Euro. Steel case no. 168968 Movement no. 1252310 Caliber P815 Dial appears not to have been redone and is in good conditions. Crowns are plain (no logo). I kindly ask advice as to manufacturing date (1961 ?) and pricing. Thank you Roberto |

About 1959 sounds right, but at nearly $2000, isn't that a little high? Unless it is prefect... |

Thank you Zaf for your prompt information. I will have the chance to examine the movement tomorrow. Any suggestion on things to pay special attention to (I am not an expert of Memovox). And how about the two crowns? They seem to be the right size and shape, appropriate to the watch, but bear no JLC logo. May they be original? Thank you again for your kind help. |

On a 1959, I would expect signed crowns for the Automatic version. Make sure the dial is original and not repainted, at that price, it really needs to approach perfection. |

I liked the watch, even though the movement is not in mint conditions and the crowns are not signed, and bought it. May be I did the wrong thing, I realize the watch cost me a few hundred Euro more than it should have, still, look at Gisbert's Euro 2250 Memovox that I like less than that I bought. http://shop.joseph-watches.com/joseph/de/FMPro?-db=gaj.fp5&-format=index.html&-v iew. In ten years I will have forgotten that. Thank you Zaf for your very appreciated advice. I will make a few pics soon. Please let me know if you are interested in seeing them. Since they are hi-res, I might be better off sending them to you via e-mail, rather than posting them. |

Gisbert, isnt the cheapeast by any means, also there is a tendency to overstate wether or not a dial is original or repainted. Whether that is intentional or not, I do not know and it isn't relevant. Just keep that in mind and ask the questions that need to be asked. |
