I have recently purchased a JLC Kryos Automatic reference 305.8.89 with a mechaninal movement (cal. 889/1). I would appreciate any information on this watch -- such as production dates and quantities. Previously, I have only seen this watch with a quartz movement. Thank you.

Hi Michael,

we are not specialized in *young* watches, so we not able to date those.
However it is pictured in the 1991 product catalog.

Thank you for your response. Does the catalog list a mechanical version of the Kryos? Are there any details concerning features of the watch? Thank you.

Its listed only as a mechanical watch, the Chronograph version is Quarz powered.
But I remember to have seen the Kyros with Quartz as well...
It is rated to 200m, no more information given.

I also want to obtain any information I can about the KRYOS watch left to me by my father. Mine has a stainless/gold braclet, white face, and automatic movement. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Robert, I actually sold this watch several months ago to a gent in the States and I see that he then sold it on using my description on ebay! I can tell you that this a real top quality piece and the little I can find JLC made them in the very late 80,s to the early 90's. The movements are very fine 33j pieces, but I can't remember the calibre number. This is way better than a TAG or Omega divers watch in my opinion because of the quality of the whole thing. It was a loss to me selling the piece from my own collection, so much I bought another exactly the same!! It took a long time to find, but worth it.
Here is a shot of a movement from another watch the same, not yours as I did not want to take the back off as it was sealed by JLC during the service and I would not take the back off. Jeff.
