Hi, I am new to the forum and apologize if this is redundant type of post. I have inherited a LeCoultre Futurematic from my father, but cannot seem to find much about it. I see others on line that are close, but cannot find one just like it. I think it was purchased new in 1951-1953. Obvious sentimental value, but not sure if I have something that has a value of .50 or 5,000? I like to wear it, but don't want to risk damaging something that has high value. Any help is appreciated! |

Thanks for the reply. Do you know of any history as to why this is LeCoultre and not Jaeger LeCoultre? More curiosity than anything for me. Thanks for sharing. |

LeCoultre after 1937 = watches sold in the USA. The topic is heavily covered in the forum, just need to find the threads. |

New here, and very interested in the snake's nest of junk waiting out there, especially the gaudy stuff from the Ukraine that all appear to be old or cheap generic movements slapped into new cases, with flamboyant dials that might be acceptable on a cheap Fossil, but clearly are designed to dupe an unsuspecting watch newbee. Then you have even pointed out the more subtle frauds by clarifying history, non-existent combinations of movements and dials, poorly copied movement markings, etc. Good job, thanks, it must be frustrating to see people fall for the same tricks year after year. |
