Hello all, Need some opinions here! I am helping my retired watchmaker father liquidate his old stock and we found an intact, perfectly running LeCoultre Futurematic that had a black face on it that had some aging on it (nothing bad, just not smooth and shiny), and an extra gold face that is in great shape. To sell it he decided to switch the faces and put the gold on it, but as I'm looking at prices, the blacks appear to sell so much higher. Anyone got an opinion on which way we might get a better sales price - black face or gold? But we would also be selling the other face anyway, so might we recoup the difference on the other sale anyway? We also have another almost whole movement ... if any parts are missing at all except the minute hand! I'm learning so much... but it's been a long process here and I'd appreciate any and all input I can get to help him out. thanks so much... in advance! |

I'd prefer a nice silver dial over a lousy black dial. However, if both are the same, the black usually sells *in a watch* for $150-200 more. |
