I have a blue dialed memovox speedbeat cal 916 model 875. The surface of the dial has discoloration due to a chip in the crystal that let in condensation. I am thinking about having the inner and outer dial refinished.

I live in Europe. How does one find a good dial refinisher? And what is this likely to cost?

The German rediallers are the best. Can someone from Germany chime in with the details?

Zaf thanks for the information. I also discover jlc have a NOS dial for this watch. I may go that route as I can then be sure the watch will look totally right. But I would still value some indication of the cost to refinish if there is anyone out there. I also hear there was an italian firm that does really good refinishing but have no idea where they are.

JLC will charge you 1500 Euros or more for your job dial + movement overhaul. I doubt it makes financial sense.

Hi Zaf, I have found that JLC factory service is considerably less than the figure you have quoted.

What is it? Last time I sent them a watch, they wanted 2000 Euros for a dial + movement overhaul. The last manual wind watch a customer sent in was 1200 Euros. Have they come to their senses?
