dear jaeger expert zaf and others, I need advice on where i can find a new dial(satin silver or champaign gold) , crown(pink gold) and crystal for my 1950 jaeger le coultre memovox. the case is pink gold plated, but the back of case is s/s. do you think i should plate the back as well? the movement is p489, serial #714211. what is the date of production for my watch? it's working fine and no repairs needed. thanks! |

The watch dates to 1950/51. You are unlikely to find a "new" dial, but you can have your old dial repainted. Signed crowns are also hard to find, the crystal is easily available. Zaf |

so where can find someone to repaint the dial and how much will it cost? is it true that the value of the watch drops by 50% if it's been refurbished? thanks! |

Where are you? If you have a very poor dial to begin with value will not drop. If you have a dial that's just a little dirty or aged, it will. If you have a photo we can make that determination if youd like. Dials are only original once. Zaf |

i'm from singapore. here's the pix. there;s some speckles which i find quite irritating. if u think a redial is not necessary, maybe u can suggest to me how to self-clean the dial, and with what aid plus things to note etc. also can u shed some light on the value of this watch as well? the thing is, the back is not pink gold- but s/s. it is signed 'lecoultre' with the serial numbers. should i pink-gold plate to increase the value? or is there any place i can buy the case in pink gold? thanks zaf!![my memovox](http://66.92.151.22/discus/messages/622/4865.jpg) |

I may be wrong given the size of the scan, but your dial looks redone already. So refinishing it will be better for the watch. Don't plate or alter anything else, that's a bad idea. You can not but the case anywhere outside of finding a donor watch. Zaf |

In good clean condition a steel JLC Memovox should be anywhere from $700-1000. Refinishing is also anywhere from $30 to $150. It may take from a few weeks to a few months depening on who you use. |
