Hi My Dad has this old LeCoultre and i'd like to get some info on it if possible. Uploading pics front and part of the back...there's a "14K" stamp on the back below a logo of some type that i can't clearly discern. I am going to take it to a jeweler and have it opened so i can see the movement. Thanks in advance for all help and regards.

Thank you so much for that. Do you know if it's difficult to open the case and verify the movement? Is it something I can attempt without damaging it? |

The 480/CW is a good quality, manual, rhodium plated, fausses cotes decoration and monometallic balance. Pic from the web: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/squelette/CW.jpg |

More precisely, the model is called the "General Pershing" and was issued as part of a series of watches named after a few famous Generals. The General Pershing model was first advertised by LeCoultre in about 1949 and was produced for several years. The original advertised retail price of the watch in 1949 was $150. Greg |
