Hello All, I am new to this forum, first of all my compliments about it. Recently I bought a LeCoultre Wrist Alarm caliber 814, and I need some help, sometimes when I set the time the winding stem slips a bit. Also has the crowns not equal. Could someone tell me if the splipping comes from the stem? Did this watch come with signed crowns, and what are the measures of them. Also I would like to know manifacture date, the serial number is 101XXXX. Thanks and best regards.

On most alarms, on the time side, the slipping comes from a worn clutch gear. It can also be from the stem not pushing far enough into the movement due to an incorrect crown, but it's usually wear on the clutch gear. Movement was made circa 1954. |
