I've not seen this version of a Memovox before. Could anyone supply any information, and comment on whether it appears genuine and "without issues" ? I have been offered the chance to purchase it. I'm told it's gold capped, from c1960 and has a rotor auto-winding movement; I'm going to ask about the calibre number. Many thanks Paul

That's a case reference E874, powered by a cal 916 speed beat movement. It has a twin that was issued in the U.S. as a case reference 3075, below, with the only difference being the dial signature and the addition of HPG to the center dial:

Thanks for the really helpful response Greg. So the cal 916 would date the watch to around 1970 (rather than 1960 as I was told)? The crowns are different on the two models but I hope the ones on the first watch are original? Overall I'm keen to ensure it's all original, since it looks very pristine. I'm ok with it having been polished but wouldn't want to go for it if restoration has gone much beyond that. And thanks |

Crowns are original on both watches shown. U.S. & Euro models frequently used different crown types since movements shipped to the U.S. were shipped without crowns. Early-1970s is correct. Greg |
