Dear forum members,
I'm thinking of buying a JLC, cal. P800. Its serial number is 711522, case number A 576554. Would this be a good combination of case and mechanism? I guess it's early 1950's; is that correct?
I'd also like to use it. Any thoughts about this? Is it shockproof? Is it not too difficult to have it serviced?
Thank you in advance,
JLC lover,
Jitte, Netherlands.

"P" Designates it is shock proof. The numbers you mention are possible.

Dear sir,
Thank you very much for your reply. Now I understand what the P stands for! I didn't know.
I'm glad you find the combination of numbers plausible. I purchased the watch and I'm very happy with it. Even more since it has your 'approval'!
Thanks again,
Jitte, Netherlands.

"P" is for parashock. If you're just getting into the brand, I recommend my book, it's sort of 4-5 years of knowledge you can gain within a day or two and it can easily save you from a costly mistake.
