Without researching old catalogs, I don't know the case reference number. It is sometimes stamped on the insides of the case back, so if you're comfortable opening the watch, I'd start there.

Looks like a 1950s piece.

Would anyone posit when the transition from 4xx movements to 8xx occurred? I would guess this would house an 8xx...?

Not so sure. If it's an early 1950s piece, I'd expect 4xx manual or a 476 if it's an auto.
