I just bought this watch off a guy and didn't realize how expensive some of these watch can be. This one is in pretty rough shape. The crystal is heavily scratches, the watch isn't running, and there is a small hole on the back of the casing. I was thinking of having the watch refurbished and keep it. What can you guys tell me about it. It says Jaeger LeCoultre Automatic on the face, and on the back it reads Memovox 947038. When I shake the watch it feels like something is floating around inside the case. http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/9306/img810.jpg http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/4158/watch1h.jpg http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/6760/watch2p.jpg |

Nice watch! You have a reference E855 Memovox automatic with a very desirable original black dial. The watch is powered by a cal 825 bumper automatic wind movement. The winding weight is probably what you are feeling move around inside.... this is normal. I also notice that the back shows a small hole where the alarm pin normally is found. This pin in pressed into the caseback and the alarm hammer hits this pin to produce the "buzzing" alarm sound. Without this pin, the alarm will be nearly silent. Your watch is worthy of a professional restoration by a competent (Zaf) watchmaker. It is a very desirable watch. |
