Hello, I found this watch in an auction catalog with the following description: "A stainless steel gentlemans wristwatch with alarm mechanism, self-winding, anchor-movement, Calibre 916, movement number 2831031 (1990ies), 17 jewels, shockproof, dark blue dial, central alarm-adjustment disc, date, central second, second winding mechanism for alarm, 1970ies, traces of wear; Estimate: 1.200 to 1.800 EURO" - Is this movement number really from the 90ies? Does this mean it is a replacement? - Case diameter? - Value and rarity of it? Thank you for your help! |

The Caliber 916 was made betwen 1969 and 1978, so 1990s is not possible. Guessing, case diameter is 37-38mm. Maybe Ilja knows what it is? Ilja? |

The watch is a reference E876, shown in a 70s dealer catalog - the actual page is dated 10/(19)71. Case diameter is 38.5/46mm, lug size 20mm. Dial: Night blue or Rhodium plated. Movement is indeed cal. 916. We cant date watches produced later than 1970. Im sure it is NOT a 90s production, due to Zafs info given above. |

Thank you for the info. That the watch itself is from the 70ies was obvious to me. What confused me was that the movement supposedly is from the 90ies which - thanks Zaf - is not possible. I think I will contact the auctioneer. Maybe they can explain what they meant with the cal. 916 from the 90ies. Any guess what the watch is worth if there is the right caliber in it? |
