I have inherited a Jaeger Le Coultre 1950s French Gold watch from my uncle who as a jockey won the Irish Derby in 1964.The watch was a gift from the owner of the horse John Ismay who was related to Bruce Ismay the Chief Engineer on the first sailing of the Titanic.Considering the history of the watch i was wondering could anybody indicate to me the possible current valuation of the watch.

Thanks and regards

Hi Zaf

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Unfortunately due to limited computer resources i am unable to send a photo.

The watch is nearly identical to the watch at the top of this web page (face not numerical / one timer only and no date). It has the following engraving on the back : ' Santa Claus Irish Sweeps Derby 1964 '.The number A700621 is punched directly below this. The front face states that it is Automatic / Swiss.I have been informed that the watch is made from French Gold.

I await your comments with interest.

Tanks and regards
Paul

I really can't tell what it is without a photo, there is a lot of variety in automatic watches of that era.
