Any idea where I can get some idea of the value of this watch? Given to me as a gift in 1958, never worn. I carried it around in my pocket the other day and, after it was wound up, it kept excellent time for several days. My uncle, who gave it to me, said he got it in Europe during WWII. It has been in my jewelry box since he gave it to me. Here is a brief description - I live in a small town in Northern Michigan, and my local jeweler isn't able to give me much help in an appraisal. Thanks for any input. LeCoultre stainless steel mens automatic watch with Memodate. Has LeCoultre logo at the 12:00 position, "AUTOMATIC" above the 6:00 position, "T - SWISS - T" below the 6:00 position. Single bars for all hours except 3, 6, 9, which have double bars. True sweep second hand (moves like the Rolex, sweep with almost imperceptible stutter on each second marker). Back of the case has " * STAINLESS STEEL" at the top (the asterisk is really a star the same height as the letter S) and, upside down, "USE ALL PROOF WRENCH 1335" arched to match the curve of the case. No scratches visible to the naked eye, under magnification half-moon scratch adjacent to upper bezel and another near the 10:00 marker. No strap. |
