Hey all,

My grandfather recently gave me this watch. It was the gift he received from my great grandparents on his wedding day. I'm just curious if someone could give me more information about this watch - model, value, etc. Its in fair condition and I think should clean up nicely. I'd never sell it as its obviously a family heirloom.

Just want more info!

Thanks,
JeffLeCoultre

This watch model was named the "400". It came out circa 1949 and was also offered in a lady's model ("400L"). Original price was $165 in 14K gold.

Very interesting. I wonder if my grandmother had the lady's version at some point as well. I assume in 1949 then a $165 watch was expensive?

What is this watch valued at today? Fair and Good condition?

Thanks so much for the response!

Jeff

Although it isn't a common model, it also isn't a very popular model among collectors. Value in its current state would probably be $300-$500 depending on venue.
