Hi, I have a running movement stamped: A. LECOULTRE 21 JEWELS 8 ADJTS. which measures 22mm x 11.5mm with no serial number and I have been reading your forum on A. LeCoultre with interest. Do you have any opinion as to whether my movement was manufactured by LeCoultre or another maker? Any idea to age? Thanks for creating such a nice site for watches. Joe |

The A.LeCoultre marked movements have been attributed to Ami LeCoultre, who was not associated with the LeCoultre factory in Le Sentier. Many of the smaller ladies' movements marked with the A. LeCoultre name were actually produced for Ami LeCoultre by other ebauche manufacturers, such as Blancpain, Glycine, Mathey and others. |

The guy at the JLC factory once joked about the A. LeCoultre movements as having been made by Antoine LeCoultre's evil half brother. |

Thank you for all the detailed info. I was excited at finding this movement in a pile of old watches, thinking it was a genuine LeCoultre and now it sounds like maybe I shouldn't fall asleep in the same room as the "Evil Movement". |
