This watch belonged to my dad who purchased it in the 1950's, I believe. I have searched and searched to find one like it, but no luck. I would appreciate any information you may have. |

This model is commonly referred to as the "ship's wheel" or "bottle cap" by collectors, though the factory name for the model is the "Bradley II". It's a very desirable 1950s solid 14K gold model that was made in relatively low numbers, though you'll see them come up on auction sites a few times per year. |

Found a similar watch in the Shugart guide. Same case, but black face and bars at the hour positions (not numerals). 14K model and the estimated prices were $600-1000. |

The Shugart price guide isn't a very good source for valuing watches. Prices in the guide are all over the map; some way too high, some way too low. Lots of good info about watches, but the price guide portion is too inaccurate and rarely updated between yearly editions. In this instance, the guide is a bit low. |

Hi, Thanks for your input and information, I really appreciate. Since learning more about the watch from this site, i have done some research. I have seen two of this style for sale, one that is exactly like mine except for the face which is white, mine is gold toned. It's advertised for $2350.00. I found another that is similar but with subtle differences. Mine has a ring on the face which appears to have small cut metal dots inside, the one for sale does not. It also does not have the four numbers 12, 3, 6 & 9 as mine does. It's for sale for $1300.00. I also noticed there are other styles that are refered to as "Ship's Wheel" or "Bottle Cap" that have the same wheel trim but very different faces. |

The Bradley II was manufactured with a variety of different dial/marker styles over the years, including a very fancy 2-tone deluxe dial (shown below) with white tuxedo striped center and black linen-textured outer ring:

Thanks again. I'm not even using the correct terminology for the parts of the watch. I know very little about them as you can tell. But I will say I am learning fast from everyone on this site. Thanks again. |
