Hello! I have inherited this Le Coultre watch and believe it to be "vintage". I need some help in understanding the year, make, model and if possible, value, of this beautiful piece. I have some experience in taking the backing off, so i did and took photos as well...Thanks! see attachment photos... |

You have a circa 1950s 14K white gold LeCoultre "Lady Galaxy" Mystery Dial watch. These Mystery Dial watches (named because of the transparent floating discs w/diamond markers in place of traditional hands) were made over a couple of decades by LeCoultre and a movement serial number would help pinpoint a more accurate production year. These watches retailed for $375 in the 1950s without the attached gold band. They are quite popular among collectors and the lady's models are actually quite scarce compared with the equivalent men's models. The current vintage watch market is pretty soft and prices have dropped since a few years ago. Your watch would probably fetch $1,500+ if auctioned today. |

About the only thing anyone could add would be a more precise production date, but I can't read the serial numbers on the movement pictures you have. Too much glare and too small. |

I was able to enlarge the pix enough that my failing watchmaker eyes could read the serial number. Your watch was produced around 1957. |
