My LeCoultre calendar seems to be different from any other JLC calendar watches I have researched. One very close in look sold recently on eBay for $1526, it was a "parts" watch but it had different color (red) calendar day colors and not exactly the same second movement (more seconds marks). Another currently listed for $5995 has basically the same look as mine, no numbers that mark time, but has the red calendar day coloring as the "parts" watch and also has more seconds marks as well. Most all of the other calendar watches from JLC state they are Jaeger-LeCoultre on the dial. Mine just states "LeCoultre". Another oddity is the months are in English as well as Arabic script. I can confirm the inside case and movement numbers as original "LeCoultre" and once I get confirmation back from JLC I will know for sure. Any info is appreciated! Thanks!

Yours looks like a US version / 14kt case (I have a similar one) I believe the dial of yours has been redone already in the past, explaining the black date numbers (mine are red on my US version). You can also see evidences of a redone dial in the seconds subdial, and the lack of 'swiss' at the bottom of the dial. Day / Date in english are consistent with a US version of this watch. Pink gold / European version is much much more rare / desirable (though the US versions are nice too of course). |

Got the confirmation from JLC that it is a true LeCoultre, approx 1946, made for the US market. All the case numbers match and are correct. Reference 2721 in the European catalogue. I can see the hallmarks, looks like a cute little squirrel. Can anyone verify the hallmark and karat value? Thanks! |

The squirrel is the Swiss hallmark for 14 karat gold, which confirms the case composition that Clavi speculated in his earlier post. |
