Hi, I'm french and Have a 10goldfilled Lecoultre wrist alarm 17 jewel cal 489 alarm.Inside the case there is the ref. number W117832 and the movement ref number is 533433. Are the case ref / cal 489/ movement number proove that It's a real WristAlarm and can you date It and evaluate the value.Would you please apologize me for my not so good american'writing.movementdial

yes it is real, the dial may have been refinished, the watch dates to approx 1949.

One of the easiest ways to tell if these models have refinished dials is to look at the small triangular-shaped 5 minute marks on the inner edge of the dial. These marks were blue on original dials and refinishers will rarely take the time to re-print them correctly in blue.

Thanks a lot for your answers.About "the small triangular-shaped 5 minute marks", this marks are blue.It's my old father who bought it during an US travel some decenies ago and It's one he had wore occasionaly, then recently gift me. I'm amazing to see wrist alarm at huge price ! Do you know approximatively the real value of this model.. and want my childs knowing the value when I'll be dead. I'm very please to read you and to have found this forum.Stan

Gold-filled models like yours in good working condition tend to fetch around $400-$450 at auction and a bit higher in a retail environment.
