Hi, this is my steel automatic memovox caliber 815 with turler dial. Someone can help me to date this watch? Case number is 783593 and movement serial is 1332704. Do you think i can find a original dial? (Or also only the central with the reveil pointer?) Thank you and best regards

What is wrong with your dial? Seems like a pretty nice original to me. The watch dates to about 1959 about when that bumper auto alarm with date was introduced. |

Thank you Zaf, in effect dial is original but a little aged (particularly the central) , certainly better of a redialed. Do you suggest to abandon my idea of a new dial (or only a central)? |

I think finding a "new dial" will be pretty difficult. Your options are keep it original (which is better value wise) or refinish. A good watchmaker may be able to remove some the aging on your center disk with a gentle rub with a product called "rodico", it's like a green putty like compound that acts like an eraser. I've had good luck removing grime with it. You can always refinish, it's only original once. |
