Hi Zaf, I would like to know if this is authentic or "made up" early Memo/Ipsovox? Someone has speculated this is a "made up" version as the case is only marked Memovox.

Looks authentic, except that the dial has been repainted at some point. Sounds to me like the speculator isn't all that knowledgeable.

Hi Zaf, Are you saying that even though the case isn't marked Gubelin on the back, it is an original Gubelin? This is how the recieved the watch (to repair) and thought I performed a faithful restoration.

Yes, on these watches, the only difference with the JLC sister watch is the dial.

...though to be clear, some also have "Ipsovox" on the back too, most likely the later ones.

Does it have a JLC marked movment?

I believe your watch to be correct, other than the dial having been refinished. You could have refinished it either way Gubelin or JLC.

Gubelin is basically a retailer, like say Tiffany. They are not a watch manufacturer.
