Can the experts tell me if the case ***top*** on these two watches are interchangeable? In other words could the stainless steel case top normally seen on a JLC Mk XI, have been used to re-case a JLC www and would it match the case back and all the other components? Help me settle a debate with a friend who insists that he had seen a JLC www in stainless case instead of the usual plated case. No pictures of course to support the assertion.

Although I have never tried it, I believe they would be interchangeable. The reason being, that the crystal ring that secures the crystal IS interchangeable between the two models, and if it is, it would indicate that the case back threands are the same as this ring is screwed in from the back.
