I have a yellow 18ct gold jlc men's dress watch and want to find out more details. The case is similar to a Louis tank (from Cartier) about 24 mm across the face (not including winder) by 33. The winder is in gold with a sapphire cabochon. The cabochon is not like the Cartier design. The dial is white with roman numerals signed Jaeger-leCoultre plus the jlc symbol. The external case number is 6029-21 1374800 Inside the case is marked as follows in addition to the gold hall marks. It is signed leCoultre and 50 then an engraved key with 29 inside the frame of the key. It also has the mark A 679 and then a line with a triangle in the middle. The movement is cal 841 signed Jaeger-leCoultre, Swiss. The movement seems slightly curved on the side to the back of the face. Although the dial is completely flat. The dial, movement and case fit perfectly. There are hands for hours and minutes in black but no second hand. The watch is very elegant. Currently there is an auction of a 1966 ladies curved, extended tank with gold bracelet that has the same JLC movement which is described as a rhodian plated movement. this watch is Cartier signed with jlc movement. Can anyone date my watch? Or give me some idea about background. It looks just like a Cartier model but it is completely manufactured, marketed and signed by JLC. I know JLC produced for Cartier until 1979 and wonder if it is a watch produced just after they broke their relationship, with JLC trying to use their materials in competition to Cartier. I can find nothing like it. Any comments? Or a possible value? I will try to photograph and post the photos. Watchwatcher |

I found the same watch as the one described above. There is a similar watch at the post on the swiss watch site here at classicwatch.com ''Posted on Thursday, February 16, 2006 - 07:04 am: by ABB''. However, my watch has a white face with roman numerals, different hands and no signature of the Saudi royal family. The similar watch in the earlier post has a case number 11 while mine is case number 50. |

I can only date watches via their movement serial number. |

I can not find a serial number on the movement only that it says 841. I mentioned in my earlier second post that there is an exactly similar cased watch on your site but that watch has a different movement to mine. As I say mine is calibre 841. Thanks, I hope this is what you mean by serial number. |
