Hello all-

New to the forums and JLC watches, always been a Longines guy but then I came across this beauty in antiques market in lower Manhattan. I almost felt like a thief buying it for what I did... Anyhow I was just wondering if any of you could provide me with more detailed information about it. Besides some scratches to the crystal it is in great condition and mechanically works like a dream, it even holds time for ~3 days without being worn before stopping. Serial number is 922906.

Thanks!

P.S. the picture makes the hands appear dark/black but they are the same gold as the case.

Sorry for the low quality cell phone picture, but also if it helps in the identification the watch has the following characteristics: "JL" signed crowns, "Memovox" signed caseback (above serial), the band lists "Made in Germany" next to the patent number with two tiny symbols (one diamond shaped and one semi-rectangular) and "8/1" on one side, and "Top Plaque G.F. Stainless Steel Back" with another diamond shaped symbol on the other. I assume G.F. means gold filled.

Thanks again!

It's an E855, gold top/steel back. Just do a search on that and you should get the info you need thanks.

Great thanks a bunch! So glad to have found this forum, and I may be sending some business your way Zaf- just to make sure this thing is in as good shape as it can be.

I forgot to ask: if I wanted to replace the scratched crystal as well as have a general tune up done, is that something you could do?
