Hi, I am still learning about vintage ladies' LeCoultre watches. I happened upon this ebay listing (had to post link; pictures will not copy). http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170385698213&_trkparms=tab%3DWatching Why does this version look so different from the same watch, shown here (different seller)? Specifically the second one I posted (with photos) shows the back of the case with completely different marks/wording on the inside, and the case seems to be better quality (beveled edge). Also the front of this watch seems to have a more geometric look to the edges of the watch near the lugs. Any insight you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks. Is one a copy or a fake? |

Two reasons for the differences: 1. I think the dial on the eBay watch may have been repainted at some point. It's difficult to tell unless you have the watch in you hands.
2. The two cases are identical but were made by different US contractors. This is perfectly normal as LeCoultre used several different case makers.
Hope this helps, gatorcpa |
