MY FATHER-IN-LAW HAD THIS WATCH AND I CAN FIND NO INFORMATION ON IT. IT HAS A STEEL CASE, DATE AND ALARM, AND THE FACE IS DIFFERENT THAN ANY OTHERS I CAN FIND PICTURES OF. I AM ATTEMPTING TO FIND OUT IF THE WATCH IS WORTH CLEANING UP. I HAVE NOT OPENED IT UP BUT THE BACK COVER ONLY HAS MEMOVOX AND 1181643 ON IT. ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THE WATCH HAS NO PAPERS}

Chris, if you could open the case and check the case reference number that would help to identify it.

My guess is it's a E855 case with the K825 bumper automatic movement.
According to Zaf's book the real Europian Memovox "Worldtimers" were cased in the E856 or 3160, and they had the maual 814 caliber without date.

Best regards,
Zsolt

I'm not ruling out the existance of automatic world time alarms for the European market. I just have not been able to find any reference material on them from the factory.

the case number is 855. Would it be worthwhile to have it repaired and cleaned up for $200?
Thanks again, chris

I think it would, regardless if it's an original WT dial or not...but please email me if you decided to sell it instead.

the case number is 855, and it does have the bumper automatic movement. I have had it cleaned up, new crystal and strap. Any guess on its value?

If it's it's just a steel E855, they're worth around $1600 to $2200, so maybe add $300 to 500 for the WT dial? It's a little tricky to price as it doesn't have a WT specific case reference like the manual wind ones.
