Hi all. I'm restoring a 1950 Baron model Lecoultre, and can't find any listing anywhere, on a replacement crystal. I've tried all the normal books and the web. Does anyone have any info as to where I might get one, or have a number for this crystal? Thanks for your help. |

It's a difficult crystal to source. Unless you stumble on someone that has a new old stock one, you'll have to custom carve up something that is close to begin with. |

Thanks Zaf. That's kind of what I figured. Just thought I'd give it a shot. Enjoy the forum, keep up the good work.jm |

The LeCoultre Baron model takes a reference # CX719G plastic replacement crystal by G-S (Germanow-Simon). There are lots of other crystal manufacturers with different reference numbers, but the G-S is probably the most common. |

Generally speaking, even GS won't carry their own older crystals. But always worth a try. |

Even though they are no longer made, these older G-S CX-series crystals are pretty common in watchmaker estates and are easy to find. I have 15 huge cabinets of them with over 20,000 crystals, just for my own use in restorations. You can buy vintage G-S crystals individually at watch parts houses like Otto Frei (www.ofrei.com) for about $5-10. |
