Just picked up this tidy 'memodate' but I can't seem to find much references to it on the web...mostly memovox, I have a few questions.. 1. Is there supposed to be a quickset for the date? 2. Movement comes out thru the front I presume, there is remark (use ALLPROOF 1260 wrench) on the rear. I've removed watches with split stems before, is this the type which just pulls apart?, I can't see getting the correct angle is possible if this is the type where you need to get the movement in the correct angle for the stem to come apart. 3. There seems to be something loose in the watch, I think this is the alarm hammer? 4. The crowns are unsigned... were they originally like this? They match the colour of the case 100percent. 5.This is the caliber 911 right? Thanks

Answers: 1) No. The cal 911 doesn't have quickset date. 2) The 1260 wrench is a crystal compressor/remover. The movement indeed comes out through the front. The split stems allow the crowns to be snapped off by pulling out hard. 3) Yes, it is the alarm hammer. This is normal. 4) Many factory Memovox crowns are unsigned. 5) Yes, it's a cal 911. Greg |
