I Need Help to identify a Lecoultre watch. I found it in a pile for a garage sale my mother was having. It looked old and like it could be worth something since it was in its original box. I believe it is from before the 1940's. Which I believe would make it my Great-Grandmothers...Please help! The number on the back of the movement is #166696 The back of the 14k casing is #605320 Thanks a bunch |

Sorry, I thought I did earlier...I keep getting an error message. Its not the greatest picture of the watch itself. I actually think the box might be worth more then the watch itself... |

The box is worth arpund $30-50. The watch, in 14k gold is probably around $150-250, though this is not the most popular style these days. It might be hard to sell it. |

No, it's a USA market watch, probably 1950s. I think you misread the movement serial. |

That box style (assuming original) would indicate late 1940s or very early 1950s. In the early 1950s, LeCoultre switched to plastic boxes with leatherette inserts for their ladies' watches. Greg |

On the back of the movement is 166696. It says LeCoultre Co-Unadjusted-Seventeen 17 Jewels-Swiss. F S A R-480...Thats it on the back. |

Ok thanks, so it dates to about 1942. Does it have small diamonds on it? I'm having a hard time with the $89.50 price for 1942. Sounds like a lot! |

I wish! Unless there was one on the winder (not sure of the technical term). I had it looked at by a watch repair man when I found it, to get it cleaned and he said that it looked like it had been replaced. What would be the price in the 40's? And why isnt there any sign of the name Jaeger on it? What is a USA market watch? Thanks again for all your help~ All of my grandparents & Great grandpartens are gone and I would love to get the watch running and have something to give my kids...when I have them! |

LeCoultre was used in the USA until the late 1970s, so USA market watches will have LeCoultre on the dial. |
