Very interesting watch! The case design appears circa 1940s to me. The movement is likely a JLC caliber 430 backwind. The fact that it's 9K means that it was a watch produced for the UK market and the contractor who made the case was likely Dennison (DTE). These very small backwind watches aren't fetching very good prices in the market. Women's watches, in general, do do as well as men's watches in the market anyway, and the fashion trend for women is for larger watches. I've typically seen these fetching barely more than gold/gemstone scrap. It's really unfortunate, but your friend is likely going to be very disappointed by the price you get for the watch. Greg |
