Recently I acquired a vintage JLC, said to be from the 1940s and a military watch. I am curious to know more about this watch, in particular the production date/period. The serial number is 413870. The caliber seems to be a P478. Near the balance I can identify something that looks like P469/4 Any information will be greatly appreciated and for which many thanks in advance. |

We'd need the movement serial # for dating and photo for valuation. Sounds like a late 1950s watch. |

I am looking for some info on a JLC with the numbers 123 11 44 on the back. It was left to me when my dad passed away. The watch seems to be stainless steel, round, with two crowns on the right side. One controls an inner track with a pointer and the other sets the day and time. There are no numbers on the face. It has straight marks(?) to designate the hours. Has an aftermarket stretch band on it, but the watch is in real good condition. Thanks from a New Guy! |

Welcome. I can't do much with case serial #s (if that is what that is). Any chance at a photo? I sounds like an alarm watch (called Memovox). |

Zaf, I don't have a pic of the watch but I'll take one in a day or so and try to post it. Do you think the numbers 123 11 44 are the case serial # or the style number? I've seen other JLC watches for sale and they always have a style # that has 3 numbers then 2 sets of 2 numbers. I'm tempted to try to take the back off of the watch, but, the only watches I've done that on were battery powered. Also, while I was digging around my small box of watches, I found a JLC ladies watch (rectangular) in what looks like a gold case. I'll try to get a pic of it, too and maybe someone might be able to tell me something about it. I really appreciate your replying so quickly. |

It is probably the style # if there are spaces like that. |

Hi! I am a totally new for the vintage watches community. Just received my first vintage JLC square 18k watch and quite impressed (even discouraged after modern watches)with the tiny size. Also it seems very strange that I can open the back without any instrument. Please can you Zaf or someone else identify the model and the production year of the watch. Case serial (on the back) 1234365 and the letter A below it Caliber 818/2 Movement serial 2033581 Thank you! vbr. vlad

The model appears to be reference 9009. Dates to about 1970-1971. |

Thank you a lot, Zaf! I tried to find on the internet some history of production or just something concerning this watch but did not managed. Is there any source of information about this watch or model 9009 particularly or may be its older predecessor in design? Just curios. vbr, vlad |
